November 16th, 2021 – Altum Health announces today the opening of their clinic in downtown Oshawa. Official ribbon cutting took place earlier this morning with City of Oshawa officials Mayor Dan Carter, Ward 2 Councillor Jane Hurst, Ward 4 Councillors Derek Giberson and Rick Kerr, and Shiran Isaacksz, Vice President, Altum Health.

Altum Health operates as a health care & rehabilitation facility for residents of the Durham region, providing physiotherapy and occupational therapy assessment and treatment services for a range of problems including musculoskeletal injuries like sprains and strains as well as concussions. Altum Health also specializes in return to work program and other programs designed to help injured people get back to their normal activities.

Altum Health is a part of the University Health Network (UHN), one of the World’s Best Hospitals (Newsweek). The new clinic, located at 38 Simcoe Street South, brings UHN to the community of Oshawa. The clinic is minutes away from Highway 401 or walking distance from the downtown core. Renovations in the former BMO branch building began in October 2020.

“The City of Oshawa is excited to welcome Altum Health and the University Health Network to the downtown core. We are so pleased to see the transformation of the former BMO building as part of a broader revitalization. With 600 staff serving 10,000 clients annually across Ontario, Altum Health’s Oshawa expansion will bring additional health care services to our growing community. Healthcare is Oshawa’s largest economic sector, and Altum Health will further strengthen that vast network,” said Mayor Carter.

“Altum and our team of specialized therapists focus on the most evidenced-based techniques to delivery the highest quality outcomes to our clients every day,” said Dr. Rajiv Gandhi, Altum’s Program Medical Director.

“On behalf of TeamAltum, I can’t tell you how excited we are to join the Oshawa community. We are excited to get to know our neighbour’s and local businesses. Oshawa is Canada’s fastest growing city, and we are pleased to see the opportunity to deliver the right care, always to Durham region residents,” said Shiran Isaacksz, Vice President, Altum Health.

The new Altum Health location in Oshawa joins the list of bricks & mortar clinics in southern Ontario: Ajax, Barrie, Brampton, Cambridge, Hamilton, Mississauga, Oakville, Scarborough, Toronto, and Vaughan.
