Altum Health has experienced clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and other registered healthcare professionals who are available for assessment and treatment of common conditions such as stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, loss and grief, as well as pain conditions and concussion-related emotional and psychological symptoms.

Did you know?

  • One in five people in Canada will experience a mental health problem or illness in any given year

  • The highest rate of mental health problems occur in adults aged 20 to 29

  • Collaborative care has been shown to be effective in improving outcomes and reducing disability

Signs and symptoms

Examples of signs and symptoms of mental illness are:

  • Consistent feelings of sadness or weariness

  • A noticeable reduction in your ability to concentrate

  • Disproportionate fears or worries

  • Feeling guilty all the time

  • Sporadic mood swings

  • Withdrawal from friends, activities you love, and work

  • Increasing fatigue and low energy

  • Trouble sleeping

Sometimes symptoms of a mental health disorder appear as physical problems, such as stomach pain, back pain, headache, or other unexplained aches and pains.

Who can access mental health services at Altum Health?

Individuals who are referred through our contracted programs with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Specialty Programs and various insurance carriers can access mental health services at Altum Health.
