After graduating from medical school at the University of Toronto, Dr. Parekh completed his neurology residency at the University of Ottawa.  He then returned to the University of Toronto to pursue a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine.  He holds certification in medicolegal expertise through the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators as well as certification as a Somnologist (expert in sleep medicine) through the European Sleep Research Society.

Dr. Parekh has over 10 years of clinical experience. He was the medical director of the Scarborough Stroke Clinic and is a former Chief of Neurology at the Scarborough Hospital and Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Dr. Parekh holds an adjunct clinical appointment with the University of Toronto. He is currently an assessor with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
